Lakshmi showcases a collection of eco-printed, handwoven saris by Vriksh, in Odisha. Eco-printing is an unique, natural-dye art form from Australia, where a variety of leaves, flowers, and twigs are used for contact printing on fabrics, drawing pigments from the same plants to create interesting, and often surprising natural prints. This elegant, silvery-blue, Tussar sari is printed with a pattern of layered leaf prints, in sandstone beige, ash grey, slate, and stoneware beige, set against a watercolour-like background. The graceful, sky and sand palette of the sari, is complimented by the mustard border and shot-hue selvedge in rust. This sari is accompanied by a sandstone beige blouse in tussar silk.
