Lakshmi showcases a collection of eco-printed, handwoven saris by Vriksh, in Odisha. Eco-printing is an unique, natural-dye art form from Australia, where a variety of leaves, flowers, and twigs are used for contact printing on fabrics, drawing pigments from the same plants to create interesting, and often surprising natural prints. This elegant, ecru, Tussar sari is printed with a pattern of layered leaf prints, in charcoal, olive, moss and army green, set against a watercolour-like background. The graceful earthy-green palette of the sari, is complimented by the woven gold zari borders and claret red thread work pallu.
