Lakshmi showcases a collection of eco-printed, handwoven saris by Vriksh, in Odisha. Eco-printing is an unique, natural-dye art form from Australia, where a variety of leaves, flowers, and twigs are used for contact printing on fabrics, drawing pigments from the same plants to create interesting, and often surprising natural prints. This stunning, sage green, Tussar sari is printed with a pattern of layered prints, made up of an array of leaf silhouettes, set against a watercolour-like background. The lovely moss and stone palette of the sari consisting of Sage and artichoke green, charcoal, rust, and smoke grey is enhanced by gold, printed, leaves in the foreground and the olive green selvedge. This sari is accompanied by a dyed blouse in parchment white and dill green tussar silk.
