Lakshmi showcases a collection of eco-printed, handwoven saris by Vriksh, in Odisha. Eco-printing is an unique, natural-dye art form from Australia, where a variety of leaves, flowers, and twigs are used for contact printing on fabrics, drawing pigments from the same plants to create interesting, and often surprising natural prints. This stunning Tussar sari is printed with a pattern of layered prints, made up of an array of leaf silhouettes, set against a watercolour-like background. The lovely blush pink-beige palette of the sari consisting of rose hip, pepper berry, and smokey pink, as well as ash, toffee, agate and sand beige is enhanced by gold, printed, leaves in the foreground and the khaki green, satin selvedge. This sari is accompanied by a salmon pink blouse printed with gold leaves to match.
