Lakshmi showcases a collection of eco-printed, handwoven saris by Vriksh, in Odisha. Eco-printing is an unique, natural-dye art form from Australia, where a variety of leaves, flowers, and twigs are used for contact printing on fabrics, drawing pigments from the same plants to create interesting, and often surprising natural prints. This stunning, antique white, Tussar sari is printed with a pattern of layered prints, made up of an array of leaf silhouettes, set against a watercolour-like background. The lovely stone and beige palette of the sari consisting of charcoal grey, slate, ash grey, stoneware beige, and rust, is enhanced by gold, printed, leaves in the foreground and hints of teal and fuchsia on the pallu. This sari is accompanied by an antique-white blouse in tussar, to match.
