Lakshmi showcases a collection of eco-printed, handwoven saris by Vriksh, in Odisha. Eco-printing is an unique, natural-dye art form from Australia, where a variety of leaves, flowers, and twigs are used for contact printing on fabrics, drawing pigments from the same plants to create interesting, and often surprising natural prints. This striking, Danube blue, Tussar sari has a pallu that is printed with a pattern of layered prints, made up of an array of leaf silhouettes, set against a watercolour-like background. The lovely, shell pink, pallu is printed with coral, smoky blue, rust, ash grey, taupe, and peat brown is complimented by the silvery-grey selvedge. This sari is accompanied by a Danube blue blouse in tussar, to match.
